Millewa County Farm is newly established area of 500 acres of vines located near Lake Cullulleraine. Tandou (Owners of Millewa County Farm) engaged Agri-Tech Irrigation based on their established track record over previous projects, to carry out a complete turn key package from design through to installation and commissioning.

The Agri-Tech team came up with a simple and cost effective design to transfer water from a 2.5km channel feed by Lake Cullulleraine to sub surface drip irrigated vines.

Four Thompsons, Kelly & Lewis pumps were installed along with 600mm Hobas main line branching off to PVC sub lines.  Filtration of water was performed by a fully automatic back flush system with irrigation managed and scheduling using a Motorola controller.

Agri-Tech designed the system to accommodate future expansion plan to reduce long term cost.

The end result was a low maintenance system designed to be reliable and reduce water cost and wastage.
